What is Flare?

The Flare Network is the first Turing complete Federated Byzantine Agreement (FBA) network. Nodes run the Avalanche consensus protocol with a key adaptation to the FBA consensus topology. Furthermore, the network leverages the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), enabling the network to run Turing complete smart contracts.

What is Songbird?

Songbird is the Canary network for Flare. A “Canary network” is an operational blockchain with a defined token supply that is intended to be used to test features for a related main net. Prior to the launch of Flare, Songbird will be instrumental in the continued testing of the Flare systems and network achitecture. Post Flare launch, Songbird is intended to be a long term network for testing governance led changes to Flare.

What do we do?

We are Flare Time Series Oracle data signal provider (FTSO provider). Togehter with other providers, we supply price data to Songbird Network. By doing this, we give our contribution to help Songbird and Flare to grow.

What is the FTSO?

The FTSO provides externally sourced data estimates to the Flare Network in a decentralised manner. It does so by leveraging the distributed nature of the network and its participants. It's network's window to the outside World.

Why do we do it?

We are excited to be part of something truly historical. Flare network will, when launched, provide smart contract capabilities to a set of already established blockchain networks. This will enable many new use cases to ever-expanding blockchain industry.

How do we do it?

We do it by fetching prices from established and trusted exchanges for all supported currencies. We aggregate them by volume and send them to Smart Contract.
